Score A/V presents… ARH.

With the digital reissue of its first album ‘Singeries’, French outfit ARH isn’t revisiting its debut so much as reactivating it. What once functioned as a live-driven statement now returns as a central entry point into a project built on friction: between precision and release, structure and instinct, calculation and impact.

Emerging in 2019, ARH operates at the intersection of math rock’s nervous system and progressive metal’s architectural weight. The reference points are thereAlpha Male Tea Party, Arcane Roots, Animals As Leaders, Meshuggah or even Urban Dance Squad – but the approach leans less on virtuosity as spectacle and more on tension as a physical force.

There’s a clear refusal of narrative framing. No concept, no imposed meaning. Instead, contrast becomes the primary tool: abrupt transitions, bursts of energy, grooves that lock in just long enough to destabilize. It’s music engineered for reaction rather than interpretation.

‘Singeries’ captures that philosophy in its most direct form.

Originally conceived as an extension of the band’s live identity, the album translates stage dynamics into a dense, immediate listening experience. Tracks unfold through intricate rhythmic constructions and sudden shifts in intensity, oscillating between tight control and near-collapse. The result feels less like a set of compositions than a sequence of controlled detonations.

This reissue reframes the album not as a starting point, but as a structural core, the point where ARH’s defining elements align: power, complexity, groove, impact.

For ARH, the hierarchy remains unchanged: the stage comes first. And the record is not the destination : it’s the schematic. A clarification where the entry point has always been.
